
How does the 38 hour 17 & Younger Class Work?

How to Get Started with NOLA Driving Institute
Step 1: Register for Class
Sign up for a Driver’s Education Course at NOLA Driving Institute.
Cost: $600 (includes classroom instruction and driving hours)

Step 2: Get a Temporary Instruction Permit
Visit the DMV to obtain a Temporary Instruction Permit.
Note: A parent or guardian must accompany any minor.
🔺 You MUST have this permit to attend class.

Step 3: Attend Class
Complete the 30-hour classroom instruction over 4 days.
At the end of the course, you will take the knowledge test.
Step 4: Complete Driving Hours
You will complete 8 hours of behind-the-wheel training, split into two 4-hour sessions.
Step 5: Receive Documentation
After completing the course, we will provide you with the necessary documents to obtain your Learner’s Permit.
Step 6: Schedule a Road Skills Test (Optional)
If you're ready to move on to a full license, schedule your Road Skills Test at:

Step 7: Get Your Driver’s License
Once you pass the Road Skills Test, you can walk down the hall to ABC Title and get your official Driver’s License issued.
Requirements & Important Notes

Age 16: Must have held a Learner’s Permit for at least 180 days before testing for a license.

Age 17: May upgrade directly from a Temporary Instruction Permit to a license.

Minors (17 and under): Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the DMV.
